I spent two weeks in the Unit 5 project space in Norwich just recently. It was lovely to move out of the bedroom and into a proper studio space to try out some new ideas and revisit old material. The first week was spent with Christina Jensen starting our process towards a sound duet we are performing at the end of the month. The next week I concentrated on remaking Private Joke for a new space, new audience, new context. PJ seemed to navigate itself to this much brighter, more spacious arena quite comfortably and the audience looked chilled out on their armchairs and sofas, with peanuts and party rings to hand. Thanks especially to Kate who manages the space and was really helpful, and Rebecca who bought her birthday entourage along and did not mind delaying her celebrations! I'll certainly work in Unit 5 again, and continue to privately joke...

The Final Work and Closing Event
The programme for liveeast is almost ending. There have been works in numerous sites and unusual settings such as a hotel, a car park, the backstage of a theatre, even a cafe in a castle and more! The last work is is Caroline Wright's HORIZON tommorow from 2:30 till 4:30 (durational) at the Thorpeness side of Maggie Hambling's shell, Aldeburgh/Thorpeness beach. Do come along!
There is more too - the 19th July is the closing event and artists talk at Colchester Arts Centre. Whether you have or have not been able to see any of the artists works then be sure to make it to this event because here you will get all ten of us in one room - presenting documentation, sharing thoughts and feedback in a creative, celebratory sort of context.
